I am the J. McLain King 1928 Professor of Mathematics at Haverford College. My mathematical research lies broadly in geometry and topology, with a focus on contact, symplectic, and low-dimensional topology. I teach classes from calculus to core classes in pure mathematics to senior theses, with interests in curriculum design, active learning, mathematical communication, and creating inclusive classroom communities.
